Newcomers to the Warwick Workouts‘ approach to basketball training often ask us why our system works. While there are literally thousands of little things we could show them, we try to keep it simple. So if you’re new to our work, here’s a look at the Top 10 reasons why the basketball player in your life can improve his or her game with our help.
- We teach the fundamentals
Ball handling, passing and shooting are all important components of the game, and at Warwick Workouts, we start with the basics. When kids build on fundamentals, they can work their way up to being better – and more complete – basketball players.
- We boost confidence
We work one-on-one with athletes, with a focus on in-game scenarios that give every player confidence. They take their training, get into games and execute. Success in basketball depends on confidence; we will make you more confident so you can become the player you want to be.
- We have accessible camps and clinics all year, all across the Midwest
We always say to be successful, there’s no such thing as a day off! That’s why we offer camps all year, and we don’t just have them in Sioux Falls. We’ve hosted basketball camps all over the Midwest, overseas and more than likely we have one closer to your player than you think.
- We can come to you
While our facility is a great place for a camp, we can come to your school and run our camp right there, allowing kids and coaches to avoid traveling. We average about 80 or more out-of-town camps each year, most often in the spring, summer and fall, so you’re ready for your season.
- We offer knowledge, fun and energy from our basketball teachers
Warwick Workouts trainers have all competed at high levels and we share our passion for the game and its ins and outs with you in a fun way that you’ll appreciate. We’re proud that our team includes players who earned All-American and all-conference honors during their careers. We’re all about performance, and enjoy sharing insights on how to properly play the game – and win!
- We show you how to react with the ball in your hands
Basketball is a game of reaction, and that’s why our in-game focus can improve what you do when the ball is in your hands. When you wrap up a camp with us, the edge on defenses you’ll bring to the court will help your team – and you.
- We work with kids from the “shoulders up”
The physical parts of basketball are crucial, but if your mental game is off, you’ll struggle. That’s why we focus on this idea: If kids can think the game, it becomes easy. You’ll like the various situations that help you get your head into the proper position for basketball.
- We train with all sorts of players, from kids to K-Pro
Everyone has a chance to get better at Warwick Workouts because our camps are tailored to fit anyone who wants to improve their game. Introductory camps offer the building-block fundamentals, and our advanced camps will push your limits and vividly sharpen your skills.
- We set you up for offseason success
Everything we do has a specific purpose, and as you build your skills to be a better basketball player, you’ll be fired up to return to the floor with your team next season. They say it a lot because it’s true: Practice makes perfect. When you walk out of our gym, you’ll take with you all the drills you’ll need to continue improving your game at home and get better every time you pick up a ball.
- We help you obtain and reach your goals
Basketball goals always vary, and we’ll talk to you about becoming the best l player you can be and what your individual goals are all about. Our drills, preparation and hard work are fuel toward the goals you have, and while it won’t be easy, if you are willing to put in the time, your dreams can become realities on the court.
While these 10 reasons are great, we would encourage you to learn more, and you can do so in person as our team will take part in the KSFY Sports Expo that’s set for March 17-18. We hope to meet you at this event, which includes some fun shooting contests, a number of giveaways and our own Shane Warwick hosting breakout sessions at 6 p.m. March 17 and again at 10:30 a.m. March 18. We hope to meet you at the Expo!
